Date notes: This is the first report I have for the emergence in 2018- since then I have had fourteen clients in Independence, Iowa bring in samples and send pictures.

Observation notes: The client who had the emergence first this year contacted our office last year with reports of damage, but didn't have any caterpillars. This year the client's entire grove behind their house have been defoliated. This accompanies fourteen other clients around Independence, Iowa who have reported extensive damage. We have not had any reports of this type of damage prior to 2017.
