Observation notes: Found about 10 caterpillars and eggs on a dwarf orange tree & 1 on a bougainvillea leaf. I’ve never seen these in the 15 years I’ve lived here. It’s going to be 110 degrees today. I hope they make it.

Coordinator notes: This is technically the Western Giant Swallowtail (Papilio rumiko), a sister species of cresphontes. They have recently added the Los Angeles Basin to their range and of course, this Coordinator was born in Glendale!-Ken Davenport
