Observation notes: On the ground, near a pretty "swampy" pond with Elm trees and Hackberry trees around it. Opened and closed its wings a lot; couldn't get a shot of its wings fully open. Several other species of butterflies were flying around the area as well (Hackberry Emperor and some Eastern-tailed Blues). Approx. 1.75" wingspan. Weather: Hot and sunny.
