Coordinator notes: Correct identification, the only urbanized Pyrgus species in most of Colorado. If you want to, it is possible to see these much earlier in the year, when their flight begins around mid-March or so. Find a weedy area that has patches of young common mallow (Malva sylvestris that has not yet flowered) alongside nectar sources (most likely tiny purple flowers or early-blooming dandelions), and you can probably find this skipper quite early.
