Montana Six-plume Moth
Alucita montana

Observation date: February 14, 2018
Submitted by: mebmna
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Occasionally we find these moths in our house. They seem to be somewhat attracted to light, as we have found them on the wall beside the nightlight or, during the day, in windowsills. They are docile, and do not try to evade us unless provoked. We don't generally notice them fluttering around, but mainly notice them when they are at rest. The ruler in the photo is showing size in mm (each mark is 1 mm).
