Observation notes: About a dozen of these moths collected on the door and side of the house overnight, probably attracted by the porch light which is on all night. They are very sedentary. Night temperatures have been between 28 and 39, and day temperatures 35 to 45. The winds blow quite a bit here, sometimes 10 to 20 mph day and night. This winter has been very mild, with moderate rains and not much snow. Elevation is about 1600. Columbia River is about 10 miles away, and Mt Adams and Mt Hood 50 to 70 miles away.
