Coordinator notes: Commas are indeed tricky to ID, but usually the underside is the place to start. If you look closely, there are some iridescent green markings near the outer edge of the ventral side. This, along with the very dark and pronounced dorsal borders, suggest the Green Comma. Historical (and BAMONA) records show an abundance of this species on the Western Slope of Colorado.
Checklist region(s): Gunnison County, United States, Colorado
