Coordinator notes: While fritillaries are extremely difficult to separate, especially in the western U.S., this one most resembles the Edwards' Fritillary. This species tends to be found at lower elevations than many others, and also has diamond-shaped markings in the thick black border of the forewing. They are also an overall darker orange than many other species.
