Coordinator notes: This is the Uncas Skipper, actually the higher altitude subspecies (tomichi) I named several years ago. I am somewhat surprised you found it in relatively good condition past mid-July. It flies west of Gunnison on Big Mesa (the type locality for tomichi) in late May and the first half of June. The Rhesus Skipper is thus far confirmed only in Delta County (where it does occur with Uncas) but it may be more widespread in western Colorado than we have thought, it is just that few have made observation early in the year there. June is when Rhesus would be found in Gunnison County. Mike
