Observation notes: Sunny, mildly warm day between rain storms. Little butterfly activity lately due to rain, fog, cold and clouds. This American Lady was flying around a small open field. Last year American Ladies were abundant in Mendocino County. This year they've been rarer. Painted Ladies have been abundant.
