Swordsman Dart
Agrotis gladiaria

Observation date: November 05, 2017
Submitted by: elopm
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Porch light. Very foggy, 52 degrees. Had fallen to the floor dead next to two other Swordsman Darts, one upside down, the other also dead. This one has a hairy head, is slender, has a dark spot on its tail. The other two have brown discal scales on their heads-one fat and wide, the other one's reniform spots and orbs are very clear; and both without a spot on the tail. What identifies male from female?
