Observation notes: I had never seen this butterfly before but I knew what it was. At first I thought it was a Comma butterfly until I examined the photo and saw it was a Question Mark due to the white dot near the crescent. Although I have lots of flowers to attract butterflies it never landed on any flowers. I landed several times on my porch rail and a rhododendron. Stayed around for about 5 minutes and then flew off. Never returned.
