Observation notes: I found this poor little fellow stuck in the headlight of my partner's car after a drive through a wooded area in the hills surrounding a reservoir at night. I don't know how he managed to get stuck, but I imagine he was attracted to the light, the wind knocked him into the small gap between the light and frame, and in the panic of trying to escape, moved in the wrong direction toward where the gap becomes smaller and wedged part of his wing and body into the frame. It was hard to free him without causing more damage, but we eventually got him loose. He was pretty torn up (hence the ragged appearance of the wings). He had trouble flying for a few minutes, but eventually took off into the night, a little worse for wear.
