Observation notes: We found the caterpillar coming down our 50 foot oak in our back yard in what we suspect as an attempt to find a cocoon location. Caterpillar looks to be full length, very heavy, and moves happily up and down the tree. About 4 1/2 in length or more when it didn't feel threatened.
