Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I turned on the light under my deck, and saw this moth sitting on a plank under my deck. Once the light turned on, it headed straight for the light. It would sit completely still, then flutter around for a few minutes, then return. I watched this dance for at least 15 minutes.
I believe the underwing color was orange...sort of a burnt orange.
I was able to get a photo with my flash, as well as one with the light from the globe.
I am also enclosing a photo of this moth in flight...though I know it is not as sharp as I would like.
summer; mid 70's; dry conditions
