Observation date: September 15, 2017
Submitted by: purplechickadee
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: I don't know what this is exactly, because it has 2 weird orange spots that look like eyes on the top of its wings. I can't find any images that match. This butterfly was mostly blackish /dark brown, but when it flew and the light hit it, it had a glimmering iridescent blue hue to the lower part of it. There are orange dots going up the sides of the top of the wings.

Coordinator notes: It is an Admiral. / accept through the photo / It is a rag which is still clearly a Red-spotted Purple - not tails on this species.
