White-marked Tussock Moth
Orgyia leucostigma

Observation date: September 11, 2017
Submitted by: TomnLiz
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: We found it on one of our Crepe Myrtle bushes. A Rue plant was also close by. We have a large garden area and have many host plants for butterflies. We've seen caterpillars for many familiar butterflies in our region and some for Sphinx Moths, but have never seen anything like this. Hope you can help us ID it.
