Observation notes: black and tan on top black tan and orange on bottom, two males were courting this female in meadow, when pursued she would dive into grass. when on thistle for nectar she would go spread wing showing topside! high sixties to low seventies mostly sunny early turning to mostly cloudy light sprinkles. mostly dry but lots of springs and meadows and some snow still melting in high country streams still running nicely. pine white other Fritiliary, crescents, checkered white, skippers, lots of moths, pine forest and meadows shrubs
