Northwestern Fritillary
Speyeria hesperis

Coordinator notes: A very worn female I settled on as the Northwestern Fritillary. Not dark enough for Edwards' Fritillary and not the correct color for the Aphrodite Fritillary; not enough black on it for the Callippe Fritillary and the spots on the hindwings are too large for the Coronis Fritillary. These are the only other Fritillaries in Larimer Co. except the Mormon Fritillary (it is not - found higher in mountains and it is certainly not the Regal Fritillary found sparingly outside Ft. Collins). Mike
