Beautiful Wood-nymph
Eudryas grata

Observation date: August 31, 2017
Submitted by: Exo514
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This moderate-sized, brightly colored caterpillar was resting on the underside of a wild Grapevine leaf. I managed to spot it without having to flip the leaf over. It was around 1-1.25" long and not eating. I took it to raise into adulthood; it overwintered as a pupa and emerged as an adult moth on June 16th, along with multiple Eastern Tent Caterpillar Moths I was rearing at the time.
