Observation notes: Seen on ornamental low growing variegated bamboo; other plants nearby include violets, red bergamot, pineapple sage, mint). There is a coccoon or perhaps an egg mass, or even a wasp nest? under the caterpillar. The caterpillar is moving but not very much at all.
