Observation notes: The weather is sunny with little to no breeze. This caterpillar was found in my backyard as I was pulling weeds from the rocks of our landscaping. I was not expecting any wildlife so I was pulling up the weeds with normal force. I turned away for one moment and then saw him on the rocks in an area I just cleared. He's bright green and fat and has a tan colored horn on his end side. He also has orange and black dots/stripes. I gave him some space so he wouldn't feel threatened. He then crawled up a plant/weed with small yellow flowers, long slender leaves and a strong odor that is kind of pleasant and kind of not. It smells earthy/herbal. Kind of hard to explain the smell of the plant. He didn't appear to be consuming the plant at least for the time that I observed him for ~30 minutes
