Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
Papilio glaucus

Observation date: August 21, 2013
Submitted by: Daykey1215
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: When I gently touched it with a stick yellow anntenes came out of the head... Assuming to be it's mouth area or near it. It stood on its tail and swayed around as if it's butt we're glued to the ground and rest of the body floating in the wind. Water was being used in the yard at the time so not sure if it's attracted to water or if the water helped pull it from underground.
