Euchaetes egle

Observation date: August 13, 2017
Submitted by: bgaehring
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Clear, sunny 77°. These huddled caterpillars were found on the Asclepius plant in my butterfly garden. When I looked up the larval monarch it did not appear to be the same Catapillar though the colorings certainly are similar. Other plants in the immediate area Zinia, sage, coneflower, sedum. There were multiple butterflies in the area including a Black pipe vine and black swallowtail. Also a monarch butterfly and multiple moths.
