Coordinator notes: This is the high altitude subspecies of the Variable Checkerspot found in Colorado. The common name is "Bruce's Checkerspot." Nice photo! Two counties are listed so I presume this is somewhere on or near the Custer/Saguache County line in the Sangre de Cristo Mts. Mike
