Date notes: It showed up just before noon. I've been excited about moths my whole life, but this is the first time I've seen one of these. I gently tugged it's rear wing open to see the hidden beauty. My son nicknamed it a giraffe moth.

Observation notes: Beautiful! My first time seeing one! My son nicknamed it a giraffe moth. I hope more come around. I gently coaxed one wing open to reveal the rear wing. It showed up just before noon. The sun must have hit where it was previously.
