Observation notes: Found feeding on the edge of what appeared to be a crab apple tree in Bear Mountain National Park. The caterpillar was almost perfectly camouflaged as the dead edge of a leaf. It was found on the same tree as a second prominent caterpillar. The temperature outside was around 70 Fahrenheit, with low humidity and significant breezes.
