Observation notes: iridescent blue very noticeable in flight . When it's wings were up I first misidentified it as a monarch.
Next to designated wet-lands 100 yards away. Vegetation such as Hosta plants, apple trees, lawn grasses, oak trees. Dry and hot (near 90 degrees) at time of sighting (mowing lawn). Images are for the same specimen.
