Observation notes: It's hard to see in the picture but the caterpillars are covered in hairs. Pretty sparse and spread out but hairs all the same. They have COVERED this plant and formed these little "nests" almost of silk where they congregate. I haven't noticed them before but my boyfriend says they showed up about this time last year too.
