Observation notes: Mostly sunny, 67 degrees, chilly breeze. Nearby were mixed grasses, a few dandelions, honeysuckle, multiflora rose, japanese knotweed; oak, poplar, redbud, white pine. The butterfly was flitting very low, landing often on short grass and small weeds along a very muddy, well-traveled deer path.
