Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America online and free. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Observation notes: Flying along a small creek. Landed on ground. No other butterflies observed in area.

Coordinator notes: This individual appears to have an unusual amount of white on the forewing but I see nothing here typical of a Southern Dogface. There is only one actual record for Zerene cesonia? I know of only 1 record for Ventura County and I would need an unquestionable specimen or photograph to accept a record of a Southern Dogface for that county-Ken Davenport
