Observation notes: This caterpillar was found crawling on a rocky/gravelly trail near the top of Agua Caliente Hill near Tucson, AZ, at approximately 5000' elevation on the Agua Caliente Trail, in encinal habitat of grass and sparse oak, alligator juniper, sotol, manzanita. It was active and kept trying to crawl out of the photo. Approximately an inch to 1.5 inches long (did not measure). Weather was sunny turning overcast, probably 55 to 60 degrees F. Approx location 32.296671, -110.667688
