Coordinator notes: The only Small Blue record in that area was near Hume Lake many years ago. Those fly in spring and maybe early summer in the western slope Sierra, or did. No records from the Sierran west slope since 1970. I found them fairly common last late April and early May in the Owens Valley. Small Blues are desert butterflies in most cases. They can be absent totally in dry years-Ken Davenport
