Observation notes: This was extremely difficult to photograph and I could not catch it -- sorry about the poor images. Fairly large, chunky moth, wingspan (second photo) is 3 inches, lovely tan colors muting to a soft green, with a bold, dark brown/reddish patch at mid-wing, very striking. The colors are almost exactly like the top photo, but the bottom shows what the dark brown shapes look like. In constant motion and wouldn't settle
