Observation notes: This guy was sitting on our newly installed deck on the railing in the backyard. I thought he was a leaf stuck to the deck railing at first. He seemed to be enjoying a little bit of sunshine on a mostly overcast 75 degree day with scattered showers. He looked like a leaf as his wings were both upright together and it was when he unfolded them that I noticed he was in fact a butterfly. His wings looked pretty rough and I wasn't quite sure what kind he was. I tried to snap a pic of his front but he flew off before I had the chance. Shortly after the wind switched and a cooler front came in and it started to sprinkle.
