Our summer fundraiser has arrived, and we need your help!
We depend on donations to keep Butterflies and Moths of North America online and free. If everyone who uses this resource makes a donation, we could cover our ongoing costs, develop new features, upgrade the system, and maybe even remove those pesky ads. Please make a one-time or recurring donation to show your support for this valuable source of information. Thank you!
Observation notes: Seen inside Quarry main shop - appeared distressed, skimming the floor while spinning in circles. Never gained more than a foot or so in altitude. Paused its seemingly frantic movements often (exhausted?) When not actively flapping its wings rapidly it never closed them more than that shown in the photo. After 3-4 minutes it crawled under a bench and out of sight. Maybe it came in contact with one of the large ceiling lights (which I imagine are quite hot)
