Observation notes: Found near Long Pond Trail, in a forest with very little to no understory. Mostly beech, sweet birch, hemlock, and sugar maples. It was a sunny day, high 80s. He had crawled onto a root that was dug up earlier that day, as part of a project to build a floating observation deck and a 20 foot gangway to allow access into a fragile, unique wetland ecosystem in the park.
