Coordinator notes: Keep these photos, this is going to be named as a new subspecies in the near future! Note the band of crescent/star shaped spots on the hind wing. You are welcome for the help! Glassberg never taught what Coordinators need to accept records but many collectors have the same issues. By the way, Friday's Blue is common on the hills above the Sonora Pass trailhead. Hope you didn't assume those were Melissa Blues. Sooty Hairstreaks are up there too! The Crestar Sootywing based on genomic work is a different species than the Common Sootywing (Pholisora catullus) which also occurs in Tulare County in the San Joaquin Valley.-Ken Davenport
