Observation notes: Two individuals "puddling" on a sandy bank of Tesuque Creek near Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am confounded by the difference between E. battoides and E. ancilla. By range, this should be E. battoides. I have many photos of E. ancilla from Boulder County, CO, which seem to match up to this individual scale-to-scale, but that ID would be in disagreement with the established range maps for the Santa Fe area. Any advice reviews have to offer on how these two species are separated would be appreciated.
