St. Lawrence Tiger Moth
Platarctia parthenos

Observation date: July 02, 2016
Submitted by: tom howe
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: While hiking the Appalachian Trail, we found the wings only of this Tiger Moth, the rest likely eaten. I didn't know if this would count as a record or not but decided to submit. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has only a few records of this over the last 50 years.
