Observation notes: After 3-4 days of being in the jar these caterpillars turn into cocoons. They are reddish brown that are smooth for 3/4 of the cocoon and then ridged the last 1/4. Based off the cocoon I thought they were Dargida procinctus, but the caterpillar doesn't match the ones that I have. From what it looks like the Dargida's are in the Northwest and I'm in Central Florida, the opposite side of the country. The caterpillar's killed one of my strawberry plants before I found them and they seem to like the weed that is pictured. Unfortunately I do not know the name of the weed.
