Observation notes: At a roadside embankment, feeding on the flowers of Salal or Oregon Grape. A small butterfly, similar in size to early blues. Bright sunny warm day, mid 70's. They would fly at the flower, almost crash landing, then slowly moved about on the flower head, feeding. Moved only when disturbed by bees. Have never seen this butterfly before
