  Sighting 1079766

Observation date: February 02, 2016
Submitted by: jcorrie
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: On a wooden wall on a veranda with a group of other moth species. Shaded, but fine and sunny outside. Altitude approx. 1600 metres
Status: Unknown
Verified by: Charlie Doggett
Verified date: August 29, 2022
Coordinator notes: This could be one of several Automeris moths but the brown color and yellow eye seems to fit the "belti" best, to me. Note that in a book of Costa Rica invertebrates by Carrol Henderson the folded side somewhat matches the Automeris Banus male, but it has eye color that is more orange.
Checklist region(s): Costa Rica, Puntarenas
