Coordinator notes: I'm definitely going out on a limb with this, but I think this is P. parthenos. There are historical sightings in New Mexico in BAMONA and one in MPG. The sp. is found throughout the west and sightings in CO are not uncommon. It does seem to like the high country, though, so I have some concern about finding this in the high desert near Hobbs. That said, the hint of spots on this view doesn't seem consistent with Apantesis figurata, and Hypercombe scribonia isn't found this far west. Note - some authorities put this sp. in genus Arctia.
