Observation notes: Photo is a low quality iPhone shot of dorsal side only. Tiger swallowtails are numerous in this county. Will try to see if both Canadian and Eastern are present. Per Glassberg's Butterflies Through Binoculars East, this appears to be a Canadian to me, but I don't know the nuances of telling them apart. Found along trail in hardwood and hemlock habitat; photo taken when it landed on an old pile of dog feces
