Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Seen at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station in sage scrub habitat. Weather was warm (90°F) and windy (gusting up to 15 mph), and when this moth took flight, a gust of wind blew it into a small, shallow seasonal pond maintained for Western Toads. I fished it out of the water with an Artemisia californica branch and photographed it on the branch. The moth is still wet in the photograph, so the colors may look a little bit darker or intense that they would if the moth were dry.
