Morning-glory Leafminer Moth
Bedellia somnulentella

Observation date: May 01, 2015
Date notes: I have continued to find these on Morning Glory leaves ongoing, including today.
Submitted by: lotusgreen
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: The dark spots do appear a bright red in real life. The colors are more accurate on the first photo, but I included the second one because of the size reference point of the penny. I also have a 33-second video of it here: https://youtu.be/j554AXkZy_4. It's neat how it eats just the green off the leaves. It seems to be aware I was filming it and wanted to get away.
