Observation notes: warm day 75 steady breeze out of the west in pm photo in sheltered valley, 100+ each day for three days of exploring mt diablo and foothills lots of species blues hedgerow, most common was buckeye in lower elevation in grassland lots of plantain and also monkey flower also. checker spots skippers ladies, red and Lorquins admiral monarchs, anise higher elevation. western, pale, two tail and one pipevine swallow tail. pipevine is said to be in pine canyon, that will had to be confirmed. crescents will post more as i edit thanks Ken for all your work getting the Id for what i think i have. several day moths. in most areas every step startled two or three gorgon copper. the most common plant was probably tall buckwheat, rolling hills chaparral oak scrub and grass land very very diverse tons of blooms still blooming and everyone said the blooms were starting to fade.
