Observation notes: Crawling across melting drift of spring snow in open meadow, mixed conifer forest. Bright, warm sunshine (40s F?) following a clear night.

Coordinator notes: Although this looks a great deal like H. scribonia (the Giant Leopard Moth), that sp. doesn't extend west into New Mexico. H. permaculata is a western sp., however. JRains
