Observation notes: At the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station in an area with a mixture of non-native grasses (largely Bromus diandrus, Bromus madritensis ssp. rubens, and Avena barbata) and sage scrub plants. In the photo the moth is on Deerweed (Acmispon glaber). The weather was unseasonably warm (90°F), partly cloudy, with light wind (2-5 mph).
